Marilyn Manson returns to the Czech Republic after eight years! As part of his European tour, he will welcome his fans @ the Vodova Arena in Brno.
Fifty-five-year-old Ohio native Marilyn Manson, real name Brian Hugh Warner, is the most controversial figure in heavy metal today, an ordained pastor of the Church of Satan and a man who terrifies conservative America. He started out as a music publicist – after interviewing Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, his first band, Marilyn Manson & The Spooky Kids, got the opportunity to open for NIN and signed their first contract. Manson was clearly inspired by the masters of the industry – Alice Cooper, Kiss and Alien Sex Fiend were undoubtedly influences – but musically he went further.
Marilyn Manson is still the only permanent member of the band of the same name. His albums have been nominated five times for Grammy Awards, and he has received numerous awards and nominations ( 31 wins and 63 nominations) in metal magazine and MTV polls. He has also directed many of his music videos. He has released a total of 11 studio albums and one live album.
Manson’s fascination with the glamour and darkness of America and the musical portrayal of his vision is still provocative today, looking back on the last thirty years of his music, Marilyn Manson has become one of heavy metal’s unmistakable figures and a dark living legend.
About his new album he says: „This concept album is the mirror shooter I built for the listener – it’s the one mirror we won’t stare into. There are so many rooms, closets, safes and drawers. But in the soul or in your museum of memories, the mirrors are always the worst. Shards and splinters of ghosts haunted my hands as I wrote most of these lyrics. While I was making this record, the thoughts that kept coming to me were, ‚Tame your craziness, sew your suit. And try to act like you’re not an animal.’ But I knew that humanity was the worst of all. Mercy is like murder. Tears are the human body’s greatest export.”
